Warning for using white-background themes on DRD
If you're using a white background theme on DRD Team, such as prosilver or subsilver2, or have a custom CSS theme loaded through your browser that uses a white background, in the future I will probably be implementing group colours that look terribly crappy on a white background. Such colours may include yellow and white.
You have been warned.

What about colors like red or brown (brown in particular would be useful for Tormentor's group =P)?

Purple as the infamous dildo for Torm's group.

Very unlikely to be using brown. Red is probably going to be reserved for something else.

Yes, custom style sheets are possible on any site.

Ahh too many colors!
Actually though, seriously, what do half of these colors mean? There are colors like orange and then variations like "Peach orange". Red has two usages -- A usergroup and what appears to be a custom status, WAY too many greens, ect.

Re: Warning for using white-background themes on DRD
The lighter colored oranges are higher levels of admins on DRD Team. The greens are hostees/moderators and then there's the green for the Stronghold team.
The bright vibrant red right now is for anyone who is no longer authorized to post in DRD Team's main areas - they have a special area where their posts are isolated.
The brick red, however, is another group, for people who are working with me on my monster deathmatch mod.
DRD Team members:
Regular Admin
Lead Admin
Me, or whoever takes over the site (probably they'd change the color though )
A hostee, or other form of moderator
A person who helps with SVN builds
Former members:
An admin who is inactive but will not have their status removed (Grubber, for example)
A hostee who no longer maintains their site
People who are being punished:
Not really banned, but close to it
And someone who is banned
People developing mods:
Monster Deathmatch team
Stronghold team
Persecution Complex team
These can change, of course (and a couple of them most likely will), and as always I'm open to suggestions.

I'd say group the colors. Admins and hostees have the current colorset (green, orange, whatnot). Anything that deals with premission revoking should only be red. Mods should use light blues, more plain blues, perhaps soft purples (although that might conflict with your status) and greens. Currently it's too easy to mistake banned and Monster Deathmatch developers
