This is kind of off-topic (heh), but it's about cracking so: http://apcmag.com/5512/pirate_crack_vis ... activation

Or just ditch such high forms of DRM together. Although people exist who pirate, they are probably not aware that there is still a large number of people who DON'T. When they sit here and make such a big deal over the few people pirating something (a thing that some bands have actually been promoting since it spreads their music), they don't seem to realise that its hurting the people who get their music and movies legitimately a lot, and almost pushing them to look into pirating.

Basically, in a nutshell, DRM methods are flawed and solve nothing.

Indeed. If they sold the movies for low prices instead of pushing money into useless security research they would probably make more money.

Well, there goes that multi-million-dollar security budget. I've always found it amazing that something that takes years to put together can take less than a month to crack.

LOL!

Yep, threw it together in MS Paint in about one minute.

*1-month old bump*

Blue-ray has same security technology so it was broken too! ;)

by MasterOFDeath » Mon Jan 01, 2007 0:43

Then HD-DVD will be the first thing non-software to require a keygen crack?

Who knows... tune in next time!

[EDIT]A little OT and OT at the same time, whats a good program for ripping DVD? (Preferably to DivX/XviD but any format is fine.)

by wildweasel » Sun Dec 31, 2006 21:49

Not likely - all the HD-DVD manufacturers have to do is replace their encryption key and this guy's "crack" is all but worthless.

HD-DVD security is broken!
