Yep, exactly my point. The purpose was to laugh over redicolous (or seemingly redicolous) elements of Doom, such as the demon rushing to the player, ignoring potential hazards (this stupidity is well presented in E2m2 by the crushers heh).

And I'm with you by the noob thing concerning joke maps. Too many people confuse laughin at something with laughing at someone which is a big difference in my opinion.

Ofcourse, thx for comments everyone.

I admit it, I laughed at the part where
the six doors jerk open and shut spasmodically
I thought it was pretty funny. A joke wad that isn't simply "funny" because it is exactly the same as a n00b map (bad architecture, misaligned and poor choice of textures etc etc) but was actually some typical Doom scenarios with their teeth removed and presented in a way to show how silly these scenarios often are. I thought the laughs worked too. :)

The intermission text at the end spills off the side of the screen at small screen resolutions though.

this was the second funniest joke wad iv ever played... acctually
the adventures of foxxys mom was the best :D tough it was just 3 seconds long... :P it made me laugh... much :P yeah the healthbonus thing was the funkkyiest :P

btw... i should put all of my funniest joke things into one wad and release it :P

by BaronOfStuff » Wed Nov 07, 2007 22:39

Was pretty good. I forced myself not to laugh as to not fail the 'exam' though :P

by Reinchard » Sun Sep 16, 2007 13:59

Hahaha! The funniest joke wad I ever played. It's a pity that is only one level.

by Psycho Siggi » Thu Jun 07, 2007 19:42

Hehe, this made me laugh when I played it. (Which was awhile ago, but still) :P

@Paul

Ready for some #2?

lol
;)

Actually this Telefrag idea sounds very funny =D

by Paul » Thu Jun 07, 2007 8:46

Well.. thanks
Remarkable how some favour it considering I spent mere 2 days on it.

by Betanol » Thu Jun 07, 2007 3:07

That was brilliant! I never laughed this much since Mock2

I love Joke Wads, and I hope you see mine (a DM one, Fallwad) in the ZDaemon!

Congratullations!

Well, I was going to name it that way ;) but seing as it redicules rather Doomy elements I've went with the Parody. Feel free to use the laugh tracks. Just remember to credit the "fat guy" and "weird woman" :?

I agree actually. Other ideas I had for it felt rather forced and not so funny. Maybe one idea, where monsters telefrag each other in one spot until the cyberdemon is finally telefragged by a health potion was worth implementing, but meh.. lazyness.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Glad most of you liked it :D
Hey that idea with monsters telefragging each other then telefragging cyber with health potion was mine idea

I'm glad it was as short as it was - it's the perfect length. I liked it a lot, and I feel that if it were any longer, the humor would have been stretched too thin.

I'm sorry, but this wins just on the behalf of the laugh track. I mean, it's so horribly out of place and random, it's freakin' hilarious on its own. Oh, don't get me wrong, I *hate* laugh tracks... that's why it's so damn funny here. XD

I'd love to see a "Doom: The Sitcom" now. Good idea, bad idea? :P
