I was going to post "This Weapon Sucks" until I realized I was the one who coded that pistol.

I don't normally bash n00bs, but trying to pull a fast one on me is laugh-tastic. Not even a word about credit there.

I took the time to at least throw some filter settings on that shotgun. Not to mention debating what color I should make it, trying out different things, and finally settling on green before submitting the thing.

if you're going to make a weapon, at least care enough about the weapon so you don't look like a n00b submitting it.

All right, I made this weapon for my doom mod Heavenly Hell, but I thought I should submit it here too.

The Prototype Pistol.
Power level 2-3.
Primary fire uses the fire mode currently selected.
Alt fire changes fire mode. There are 4 primary modes, indicated by the light on the back of the pistol on which one you have selected.

Sprites by Eriance.

one bug i can't fix though is that the alt fire awakens monsters. Any way to fix this?

Too weak. Don't be afraid to give your weapon some power. As a rough guide, 10 cells from a plasma rifle is (5d8)x10 so a 10 cell projectile should be 50d8 minimum.

On the alt-fire: add +NO_ALERT to the weapon and use a dummyalert projectile with A_AlertMonsters on the primary fire.

As for power...well, I agree with TDA that it should be a bit more powerful, but overall this weapon is pretty awesome.

This is perfect! Though personally I'm going to step it up to Power Level 4 - it seems to fit okay there, and this wad needs more level 4's anyway.

Mattus, what I'm saying is that you either need to find resources that haven't been used thousands of times already, learn how to edit the graphics yourself (even if it's just to recolor them), or just stop submitting weapons altogether.

Everybody else: Obviously I can't control your creativity, but if you're looking for good weapon ideas, why not try making level 1 or 5 weapons? Currently the wad has exactly zero of either of these, and as I said before, the wad won't get very far until I've got all the power levels sufficiently filled.

Oh, and that pistol is quite the toy. I loved all the various AltFires it had. (huggles the gun and puts it under his bed)

well, if you're in need of a level 5 weapon...

i'll get to work on the Prototype Pistol's bigger, badder, brother, the Prototype Rifle {which is a BFG}. >=3...
