Post apocalyptic, eh? Makes me think of the Fallout series.

Alright, I've finished up the graphics for the shotgun and fist replacement. The shotgun is now a modified pump-action shotgun with a notch taken out of the top of the barrel to give it a greater vertical spread, perfect for headshots! The fists are now the knuckle dusters, which are a crude but effective weapon made from a bent piece of steel. Definitely a last resort.
I'll post more tomorrow about the weapons and monsters.

Soon enough. :) When I get started on the wad file, I'll need beta testers, too.

I've started work for the graphics of the starting weapons, the zipgun and single barreled hunting shotgun. The Zipgun is a single shot, handcrafted pistol that is deceptively primitive and packs quite a punch. I'm mulling over whether or not there should be an upgrade that turns it into a semi-automatic.* The single barreled shotgun is pretty self explanatory. It is a family heirloom.
*Edit: I've decided that the Northern Alliance troopers should carry a semi-auto instead. Also working on a rifle for the Desert Guard called the Sharpshooter.

Is it possible to give the player an item through RTS? I'm pretty sure it is, I'm just curious how you do it. I have a very cool idea for the berserk pack. :) I'll post a screenshot of what I'm working on as soon as I get an answer. :D

I know it's possible - I used that extensively in ww-cash.

Yeah, I studied your RTS code and quickly discovered give_benefit. :) As promised, here is a screenshot of what I'm working on:
Keep in mind that this is just a test image, and has been blown up for clarity.
In place of a traditional power-up, the Berserk will be replaced with something known as Black Ice. The player selects it from his inventory like a normal weapon, and upon using it, is given the berserk benefit. I thought this would be more interesting to use, and you can also store a few of them for backup. I
could do the same thing with health packs(maybe the smaller ones?), but I don't think I will.

Just completed the Zip Gun's reloading frames! When I finish up the graphics for the rest of the starting weapons I'll have enough for an alpha release. If anyone else wants to be a beta tester, please post now!
