I've had a look. If it's this one, you're in luck because I've already done it:

Yes, it appears to be the same one that I'm trying to use. The skin looks different from the one that I saw on the BR site, but the shape appears to be virtually identical.

Any chance you could share that with me?

Sure I can. It does look a little different. I think I tweaked the skin slightly for my own requirements but there seems to be slightly more differences than just from that. I do remember that there were some bits of the skin that weren't properly used. Also, perhaps that shot from the BR site is of a slightly different version of the model or something.

Anyway, I'll get it sent to you in the next few minutes.

Got it, thanks. I clearly see what you meant in your email, when you said that the model is a low-poly version and the screenshot on the BR must be a high-poly and hi-res texture version. Still, the version you sent me looks very nice, and suits my purposes very well. Plus, it's far better to use the model than to try to re-create a generator using sectors.

Now I need to go in and look at the other models I intend to use, and see if they have more than 3 image files associated with the model.

Thanks, again.

BTW... where do you get your models from?! O_o

A few months ago I went on a bit of a rampage trying to find as many sources of models that were suitable for conversion to GZdoom as possible. I thought there would be loads of MD2 and MD3 sources all over the place but there really isn't that many. Most models are actually player replacements but the supply of props and things that are useful for putting into levels is relatively meagre. That being said, there are some good places to look.

If you just want Doom models, the Risen 3D, Doomsday and Vavoom sites are good places, although a lot of the models between the sites are the same.

Wim Sitters has made a whole bunch both as stand alone models and his maps tend to be chock-full of models too. His maps are worth playing for the eye candy alone and, IMO, "Genetic Disaster" and "Doom Dragon" are very good, very playable maps making excellent full use of models.

For custom models, the Duke Nukem hi-res pack has loads

It's quite a chore to go through them all and pick out the good ones - but there are some very good ones so it's worth it. In fact, if you have Duke Nukem, it's worth downloading the hi-res pack and update, installing eduke and playing it. I don't know if its because I'm more familiar with Doom than Duke and so am less bothered about the models and textures not being so "true to the original" but IMO, the Duke hi-res pack does a far better job of "hi-rezzing" Duke than any pack has done for Doom so far.

The BlackRayne site that you will have seen mentioned in this thread has loads of models too. Some are very good. They are intended for Quake 3 mods but most can be converted fairly easily to be used with GZdoom.

After that, its just a case of raking through model sites and seeing what you can find. A few sites offer some free to download models but the bulk require payment for the good ones. Also, ripping from games can be worthwhile. There are surprisingly few in Quake 3 but Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy has quite a few (though not all are MD3 - but Milkshape can read them all) as does the Dark Forces mod for Jedi Academy. RTCW also has a few, provided that you have an editor that can read the format. If you have Jedi Academy, the Dark Forces mod is worth playing. The demo for Jedi Outcast was enough for me to go out and buy Jedi Academy just so that I could play the mod.

For info, I just got through playing a bit of "Medal of Honor" and I spotted this desk and chair in a few of the houses. So it looks like that's the original source of these models.

...which is a shame because there are a lot of nice models in MoHAA but Milkshape can't import them.

Lightray3D seems to import them just fine but the evaluation version doesn't do exporting.

You should try Stalker models with OGF Viewer.
