@ellmo-coming up really nicely :) Can't wait to see it done.

About the coordinates-why are You taking a tedious way of typic the coords from the keyboard? You not need to be superbly precise, plus, when making symetrical objects You should slice the half of Your model, and clone the existing half (Shift+Move somewhere) with the reference option checked instead of "clone" to get a reference that'll reflect all the actions from the base ;) Thus modelling 2 identical halfs of the object.

About animation-good luck with that. It's much more complicated to be learned from any ordinary tutorial. I do recomend taking an online course (i.e. sites with animations explained from basics) to get a better hang of it, or even some books about it.

Tip-learn to use the 3rd mouse button in rotatin the view. The navigational tools are too tedious in my opinion
ellmo wrote: NMN have you got some of your models anymore?
Sure.

The package turned a bit large too.. There are some old models (I'm sure You'll recognize some ;) unfortunately, mr hero isn't around anymore.. ) The people wired up to cables were for some laboratory level.

You may notices the weapons being a bit bland. Indeed they are only gray references for real weapons I've done (like Weasel's Revolver). I model out the base and then use it as a reference. A paint job then turns it into a real weapon. Alternatively I could just uvmap them in Gmax, painting the body in PSP.. then it'd require less tweakage in PSP. I'll try that later.

Oh, some models lack textures :( Nothing I can do about that. They got deleted long time ago (June 2004?)

Like I said, the download is a bit largeish so I'm going to take it off my webspace tomorrow at around 19:00 GMT + 1 not to clutter up my space.

It's in final phases. Just a tweak or two on the scope, and then I'd have to put something on the chasis' sides I presume.

I NEED TO ;) !

I already did... It's really helpful. Not to mention that I am working entirely in the 3d Perspective view :)

No worries, it's already downloaded.

Oh, and hooray for Cimoszewicz's resignation!

NMN... your models are terrific... I couldn't say that form sprites you were sending back then (a year ago?), but now I see how nicely they have been done. Not to mention your most recent productions, as the weapons you sent. Tasty!

Going back to my model: I really like how the scope turend out. It's a bit different, than the one from the drawing, especially around the front lens. But still... I like it. Scope is not attached yet, but when it is... I suppose it'll be finished.

Hmm... I have just started a new model (other one is finished, and compared to the last screenshot I posted, it only have a slot connecting the slope to the chasis), which is supposed to be a Sheldon class Medium Mech. Unfortunately I only have concepts for the head.

Added missile racks, and quickly found out to have no idea where, and how to put the legs, and arms of this baby.

It's really a hard job, when you don't have the complete vision.

Me too...

Bumpage... Something has moved in this design. I made a few aggresive moves, and voilla... there's a first arm, wielding an automatic 12-in. mortar with four clips of incendiary grenades (oooh, I love to came up with all those weapon and thecnical specs, as well as historical background).

The other arm should be armed with a short range cannon, and some MGs.

Those things look like they'd be fun, but the texturing..... :puke:

Looks like you've got the mechanics of the 3d editor down pretty good though, good work on the models. :)

Who told you, they are textured? ;)

Still don't have any ideas on the Mech's legs... :(

Legs...hmm...well, reverse jointed legs have been done (this thing already looks kinda similar to the Timber Wolf). What I suggest is something other than legs entirely - how about a hover pod, or treads (or if you must have legs - spider legs)?

Spider legs could look cool actually... would give the mech more of a grasp over harsh terrain.

I think I know what the God of Mods Wild Weasel would add to his next mod now. That there sexy Mech body with Spider Legs to boot. Hey it could happen. He has made things that I never thought possible er uh well possible in DooM.
