There are a number of things I do very early on when setting up a new computer (and this goes back to XP too). Switch of that horrible default of hiding file extensions and switch off automatic updates. I'll control what and when I update thank you very much.
I do the same thing minus the auto update part lol.

Are you even reading half of what I'm writing?

Have you tried forcing Windows to use the basic VGA drivers?

Just make sure you have the drivers downloaded for all your hardware for Windows 7 downloaded and stored somewhere (like a USB drive) so that you can avoid this mess in the future. Downloading the drivers in advance for a new OS cannot hurt you.

Edit:

Windows Update gets its drivers from the manufacturers the submit to them. However, they don't send them to you in a prepackaged form (the installers) which most drivers use these days. So when they install it, they won't be doing the same thing the installers do in the background to get it working correctly.

An alternative option, FORCE Windows to use the basic VGA driver. That way, it won't use the drivers from Windows Update. Then you can delete the drivers that were downloaded from Windows Update and also install the drivers from NVidia's website.

Here's how you do it: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/For ... 0327622fbe
Ok I finally found some time to do this and I tried this method. It worked and I did a clean install of the drivers. Unfortunately I was unable to do further testing on GZDoom because I was already late for work so I will update this tonight with the results.

From IMG_0789.MOV I see that you are loading everything into one folder. It just might be that one of those files is conflicting with the operation of GZDoom.

I install every version of a port into its own folder, ie
GZDoomR740 or GZDoomR742 or ZDoomR2118,
which then contains only the files to run that port.

Then I copy the ini file from the previous version into the new installation. In this ini file I have set the location for the IWADs, which are in a seperate folder, ie
[IWADSearch.Directories]
Path=F:\DOOM\IWADS
so that GZDoom knows where to look for them.
Also, I do not have to go through the keybindings every time.

Heck, I even have each pwad in its own folder.

That way, nothing can conflict with each other. And that is a lesson learned years ago.
