This also does not make sense to me. I'd rather bet that you didn't pack the same version of the exe and these saves were made by a rather old version. There is absolutely no reason I can see that UPX would somehow manage to alter the save format. If it did, then it would also mean that a packed GZDoom cannot load PNG textures...

I dunno about that.

I'm just saying...what I already said. GZDoom returns an error that says something like "EXPECTED A NAME BUT GOT SOMETHING ELSE". You tell me what that means.

It means that something that was present when saving is no longer present when loading. Did you by any chance autoload something once and not again?

Hm, I'm not sure. :/ I first tried loading the saved game (for the PWAD Strain, a super f***ing excellent game) via Unleashed (e.g., via command-line), then tried through the game's main menu after loading the game and PWAD. It gave me the same error both times.

The saved game was an auto-save from a previous game, though.

This worked for me aswell. But I will only use it to test my maps from DB2.
