If anybody could help me find a better-looking skybox to fit this, I'd appreciate it.
Why? That skybox is uber. And this is one promising looking project

I was just noticing how chunky and grainy the skybox looks, really (and that's its native palette).

Bio could you add zip/pk3 support? to load zips and pk3's in gzdoom using ZDL that would be cool!

ZDL can already do ZIPs. I would have added PK3 as an option, but when I added it, everyone had decided to use ZIP but switched on me.
You could go in with a hex-editor and change the *.zip support to *.pk3...
EDIT: Wait, nevermind. Looks like you'll have to wat for wxZDL.
