There's just one problem:

It fails to run! It just quits after entering the title screen.

Even a fresh install (and no autoloaded files - just the Doom 2 IWAD) didn't help - it created an empty INI file!

No crash logs too. It just quits.

Anything I can do to help you trace the problem?

EDIT: Bug report at http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php? ... highlight=

EDIT 2: It runs if I set gl_nogl=true. I've updated my video driver yesterday. Could that be the problem?

EDIT 3: I've tried various versions of display drivers and none of them fix the problem. Isn't anyone else having the same problem as I am?

Yep, crashes for me too. :( Right after it initialises sound.
So I reinstalled 1.0.16 cuz I'm desparate enough.

Works For Me (TM)

What drivers are you using if you are using an nVidia

9.1.3.1 dated 6/1/2006.

But as I said before, I've tried several driver versions - none of them worked.

GZDoom 1.0.16 works but 1.0.17 doesn't work so I guess some code in 1.0.17 is causing this.

I've had nothing but problems with that version of the drivers..... I use 81.84 dated 10/03/05. It works flawlessly for me.

I took a look at the MS error report; it crashes with exception 5 - array bounds exceeded, but no address is given for the error. Here's the MS crashdump swiped from the temporary file directory, if it helps:

I couldn't find 81.84 on the nVidia page, but there's 81.85.

GZDoom still won't run.

I doubt this has anything to do with drivers anyway.

Works for meâ„¢ So far anyway.

BTW, if you are using the 91.31 nvidia drivers and you do not actually need them (say because you have hardware that older drivers do not support) I'd strongly recommend going back to older drivers. The 91.31 drivers are plagued with problems including sometimes leaving the screen totally black ofter quitting a game, strange bands of colour on the screen and a really crass attempt at adware where a system bubble appears if you do not have an SLI system and where clicking on the bubble takes you to a page advertising SLI video cards. What's more, the new control panel is an ugly, unfriendly, badly thought through piece of junk. There are literally hundreds of posts complaining about these drivers on the nvidia forums. Rather bizarrely, most of the bugs were known about at the beta stage and yet were not fixed for the public distribution version.

Well, it works just fine for me.
I'm using nVidia 84.21 drivers for reference sake.
