[RES] [G] aD Weapon Sprites

Chances are, if I say the name Action Doom, you immediately think of Scuba Steve's action doom. However, way before that, and way before Immoral Conduct was named Action Doom, there was a direct port of Action Half Life (of Action Quake 2 fame), to the Doom Engine.
At first, it was a stupid .deh mod, however, after gaining the help of someone familiar with EDGE, we turn it into an EDGE mod with addtional weapons.
Eventually real life took over and it sort of went to the wayside.
Eventually, I got back into it and started making new weapon sprites. Immoral Conduct is an inspiring mod, putting tons of weapons and tons of details into a game. I wanted to make Action Doom, at this point aD, a game like that. I am pretty good with .deh, but not with ddf or custom weapons, so I stuck with Sprites. I built a collection of weapons that would work well with aD and hopefully someday they would make it into a game.
Eventually, ZDoom released custom weapon support and THAT brought about some awesome opportunities. I have dabled in DECORATE, but don't really have the time to bring these weapons to life.
So I offer them to anyone who wants to mess around with them. Nothing is free, though. If you make these weapons into something playable, please let me know where I can find the outcome. I would love to see what you did with the sprites. Maybe I could compile all sprites into something that can be seen as a last hurrah for aD....
Either way, enjoy the sprites, and thank you for taking a look here!

Akimbo Hand Canons
http://web.umr.edu/~mlang/doom/aD/aD-AkimboHC.BMP
Created from the double-barreled shotgun (obviously), and aim to pack a punch. I feel the sprites work well for the weapon...think Antonio Banderas in the Bar Scene in Desperado. Strong weapon, but a pain to reload. Two firing modes are animated and included.

Kung Fu Kick
http://web.umr.edu/~mlang/doom/aD/aD-Kick.bmp
Action demands kung fu, and kung fu requires a kick! This sprite is a recolored Hacx sprite, and while it is simply ripped and recolored, its absolutely perfect for this purpose. The green goes well with the standard Doom Marine look, so you can't really go wrong! Quick sweep kick is animated.

Kung Fu Punch
http://web.umr.edu/~mlang/doom/aD/aD-Punch.bmp
Adapted from Scuba Steve's gloved fist, I simply added additional punching frames, to increase the damage the fists of the Doom marine can dish out.

M-60
http://web.umr.edu/~mlang/doom/aD/aD-M60.bmp
A powerful weapon that might be redundant, but its ACTION! M-60 sprites converted from the Build-engine game NAM. Animated with a chain of bullets that actually depletes.

M-79
http://web.umr.edu/~mlang/doom/aD/aD-M79.bmp
If I had to pick a favorite weapon, it would be the M-79 grenade launcher from Terminator 2. Hopefully you feel the same way about this as I do. Sprites are converted from the double-barrel shotgun. Really needs a good THUMP! sound to go with the action. Reload sprites are included.

MR5
http://web.umr.edu/~mlang/doom/aD/aD-MR5.bmp
Converted from the Doom Alpha sprites, I wanted to create an MP-5 for Doom that wasn't like our MP-5. The result is this. Included reload sprites.

Other aD Weapons from other sources:
Also included in the weapon listing for aD were weapons from other mods that just fit so well with this design. Some weapons are just perfect, and it's hard to replicate them.
Included here are:
Akimbo Pistols 2: I can't remember the source of these sprites, but I didn't create or edit them in any way. They are a good akimbo set of the original doom pistol.
Akimbo Pistols 3: Original sprites from Duke Nukem 3d, converted and edited by Cory Whittle
Akimbo Uzis: Original sprites from Shadow Warrior, converted to Doom by Cory Whittle
Grenade: Original sprites from Nam, converted to Doom by Cory Whittle
Grenade 2: Original sprites from Powerslave, converted to Doom by Cory Whittle
Knife: Sprites converted/created by Cory Whittle. Can't beat knife animations.
Minigun: Sprites from ZDoom Enhancement pack
Pistol: Powerful looking pistol
Remington Shorty: Original sprites from Duke Nukem 3d, converted to Doom by Cory Whittle

Yes, bitmaps are evil, but they are small and WILL load.
