ati card and gzdoom

I only found out about gzdoom a couple of months ago and it improves Doom greatly but I've now run into a major problem as i've upgraded my nvidia 8800 to an ati 5850, - gzdoom will now not run at all and comes up with an error screen every time after running a few lines of script. I've tried adding an older atioglxx file to the gzdoom directory as some sites suggest, but it has no effect - quake runs ok and that is an opengl game so i wondered if anyone had another fix or if it can be fixed in a future version of gzdoom

"As some sites suggest" -- do you mean this? http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=4820

(Looks like the current ATI OpenGL driver doesn't work with GZDoom since they updated it to support OpenGL 3.2)

yes that wa the solution i tried but after trying the atioglxx files from 9.1 and 9.5 and even going back to 4.11 drivers, - putting the file into my gzdoom directory, i don't think it's going to work for me

You have a better chance in downgrading your drivers. Sometimes using a single DLL will just screw thing even more.
