Feature Suggestion: Multiplayer

I'm sure someone has brought this up before. But I figured I'd pitch in my two cents on this. ECWolf already seems to be built off of ZDoom, or at least it's code. Seeing how well put together the engine is, would it be difficult to add multiplayer?

It's based off Wolf4SDL, and only borrows some code from ZDoom (resource management and some scripting). So adding multiplayer is actually somewhat difficult. With that said, progress has already started and you can find a video of that on my YouTube channel. There's still a bit to do before it's even remotely usable though.

Ok then... I look forward to it! Also, I read on the forum that you're going to eventually add support for Blake Stone and other WolfTech (idTech1) based games. This is good news for me, because I have all of the original ROTT and Blake Stone games as well as Wolf3D. I'll check that video out today. Also... maybe you could contact the creators of SplitWolf and see if you can get permission to use their Multiplayer Wolf3d spirtes.

There is actually a multiplayer sprite project for ECWolf:

I don't intend on providing these sprites out of the box since it's a bit of a rabbit hole, so I'm not really involved with the project. That said, I do recall DoomJedi showing up in the ZDoom forum thread.

Yeah, a lot of the sprites from the Rotation Project are modified versions of the ones from SplitWolf, minus the Lost Mission stuff and the missing non boss pain rotations, which I'm slowly, but surely getting done. DoomJedi has given permission several times at zdoom's wolfenstein boss thread for using or modifying his sprites. They were in real need of a major tune up (got rid of them blue guns and made some sprite enhancements). Boss stuff will get the same treatment when I finish all non boss stuff first.
Anyways, I know you won't use the rotations out of the box, but what about custom player sprites made for the player actor when multiplayer is finished? Would those potentially be included? I'm making some for BJ and I begat one for Noah.
Custom Mac BJ already exists.

It's not out of the question, but the fact that ZDoom only has crouching sprites for the Doom marine kind of annoys me, so I would need the complete set to even begin to consider. Right now I think it's more likely I'll be directing people to download your sprite pack for an optimal multiplayer experience.
