Can I get help with playing brutal doom? I want to play Doom 2 with the brutal features but I can only get the starter pack levels to load.

Start using this command line: gzdoom.exe -iwad doom2 -file brutalv20b.pk3

Brutal Doom doesn't work with development builds. Details are here.
You can fix this by yourself though by removing those 'l' characters. Or just use the latest stable versions, 2.1.1 or 1.9.1.

Ah, I see now.
In blood.txt there are two ocurrences of A_FadeOut with a 'value' of 0.l (small L) instead of 0.1 (number 1).
After correcting that, brutalv20b.pk3 now works with gzdoom-g2.2pre-1220-gbf2b61f.
