ZHalloween Lives! (But needs help)
Yeah, so this project is not completely dead, though it needs more work. As of now, there are 5 maps, plus a titlemap, of which there are 4 nearly done large maps. Some screens of them follow. Furthermore, there is one new weapon, but more need to be made. If any good decorate weapon people can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you can map, you are of use as well, if you can manage resources and compile them, you are of use. Basically, right now, we just need people. Speaking of we, it's really not "we" anymore, unless Kirby proves me wrong, so "we" need some new people, or something. Please help, not another halloween should go by without this done. Okay, enough reading, time for some screens, taken in GZdoom.

Okay, time to be complelely honest here.
I don't have the motivation to keep working on this anymore. When I first signed up for this project, it was basically just make a map, and submit it, and that's that. It turns out that I made three maps, wrote a couple songs, added a couple monsters, and then the project just kinda died. Well, I don't have enough experience with large wads to finish this, and, agian, I'm not motivated. Unless somebody can help, not necessarily take over, but help me with it, it will never be released as a quality mod, at all. I'm not asking somebody to do it for me, just for some help. I figured to ask here first, then go back to the ZDoom forums, since people here generally are more dedicated to stuff. There's still a lot of work to be done, but with help, this can be pulled off.

Well, the "team" quickly dissipated into just Kirby and I, plus others just making maps. Then, only one other person actually finished their map, and Killer_of_Doom did a bunch of monsters, and beyond that, nothing. There were several people who were going to do something, but then had to quit for some reason, so the "team" dwindled. Kirby put up a supposedly playable beta version on the server that was anything but, and since then, I haven't heard anything from him, or anybody else. I don't think we need any more monsters, but somebody else was working on a boss level, and there was another map in the works, all of which just, uh, died.

As much as the dynamic lighting gives atmosphere, this is supposed to be Gzdoom AND Zdoom no? I advice you invest in the lightning area as well. Who says environment can't be a part of gameplay? Hide those enemies in very dark shadows
That said, I kinda doubt a project named "ZHalloween" can be anywhere scary
I prefer the more psycho-horrors such as Silent Hill in being scary, that's just me... and about 3/4 of gamers
Enough babble, you said

exactly, how is ZDCMP2 doing? Is it dead? Dying? I'd like a progress report of some sort, not because of particapating in it, alias "release my map you bastards!" but because that project was looking very fine. Mighty fine even.when projects like ZDCMP2 were also dying,

ZDCMP2 is very sadly dead, when Talanos disappeared nobody picked up the leadership and soon Biff, myself and the few other participants left it alone. I have the latest version of all of the files related to the project, and I imagine some others do as well (Kirby and Biff should). I don't know if jalla's ftp is still running or not.
Of course, there's nothing stopping a ressurection, but what with all the other projects in development, the original team all working on KDiZD or nowhere to be found and the pheonix team all missing or doing other things, I doubt that will happen any time soon.
Shame too, it's a very fun wad and a lot of people have put a lot of hard work into it (Biff and I have done a lot of the most recent work, but over such a long development time, there have been many participants, including yourself, who've done a lot.)

I reckon KDiZD, when finished, could generate enough interest in the project. Most of the participation was originally because of all the people that had played #1 and wanted to have a part in something similar. I know that's why I joined up.
With another (hopefully) successful community project, surely everybody would want to participate in an unfinished one.
