9803 Sector Light - Help needed

Post by NeoHippo »

9803 Sector Light (red, green, blue, scale )
pWAD: http://www3.telus.net/NeoHippo/MAPS/dl9801.wad

Although I have given the three lights different values for scale,
they all seem to be rendered at the same brightness.

Am I using scale properly, or am I doing something wrong?

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure if 9083 was a typo or a new item which I had not seen before.

Quite frankly, though, I have read DaniJ's explanation serveral times and I am still confused.
Maybe it comes to me when I play around with the map a bit more.

I think I got it. The values I chose for scale were too big for the size sector.
In dl9803n2.wad I decreased the scale values considerably. What it really does is,
it varies the diameter of the illuminated area. A given scale value will produce
always the same light size, regardless of sector size. To find the optimal light size
for a given sector, adjust the scale value up or down.
