How about...
-- ZDoom based names --
ZDoom-E (enhanced)
ZDoom-G (Graf)
ZDoom3 (because it's 3D and 2 is taken
)
GZDoomGLx 3D (Graf's ZDoomGL custom build... with 3D floors and eventually models)
-- Doom based names --
DoomGL
TwisteDoom
NextDoom
Doom Remade
ZahlDoom
DoomUniversal
-- Simple names --
Revilution
Evilution
-- Acronyms --
GAGLD (Graf's Awesome GL Doom)
GLAD (GL Awesome Doom)
EDGL (Enhanced Doom w/ GL)
GZDGL (Graf's ZDoom w/ GL)
GZD3D (Graf's ZDoom3D)
AGLDE (Awesome GL Doom Engine)
GLADE (GL-Abled Doom Engine)
GLUED (GL-Using Engine for Doom)
GLUDE (GL-Using Doom Engine)
GZDE (Graf's ZDoom Engine)
GEZDE (Graf's Enhanced ZDoom Engine)
G3DZD (Graf's 3D ZDoom)
GOZDE (Graf's Optimized ZDoom Engine)
-- Non-serious titles/acronyms --
GOATSE (Graf's Optimized Awesome Terrific Super Engine)
ZVLJEDE (ZDoom-Vavoom-Legacy-JDoom-EDGE-Doom Engine)
GRAFDE (Graf's Really Awesome Fun Doom Engine)
ACRONYM (Awesome Cool Really Optimistic New Yellow Motor)
... also you could have YDoom, because you know there's XDoom, ZDoom, JDoom, and CDoom.
As for Gloom being a ... *shudders* pokemon ... it's also meant to be a state of depression. And that was the ORIGINAL meaning of the word, last I checked.

My suggestion was a joke, perhaps with a tiny sting to it. The talk of adding Fragglescript made me think of it.
You know that I'm a believer in cross-port compatibility (and if what you say about Legacy is true, then that'll be a shame).
It's just a little bit sad to see ZDoom making Edge, a port I've put a lot of my life into, redundant, first with DECORATE and now with 3D floors. But that was inevitable, and if you can successfully add every feature then more power to you.

@Ajapted: The things ZDoom lacks that keep me coming back to EDGE, though, include:
* Writing RTS scripts without the need of new maps. This allows me greater flexibility in weapon mods for special effects like health and armor warnings, and purchase menus.
* Easier handling of reloads and clipsizes. Currently, ZDoom's handling requires cheap hacks and makes code unnecessarily messy.
* Dynamic translucency in sprites, monsters and weapons alike.
* Incredibly easy to rip out original Doom resources and essentially write a new game from scratch.

When did this happen? I like to think I know of what going on with the new version, but obviously I have missed a helluva lot. I was looking forward to the new version, in terms of compatiability with other ports and stability (although I've never experienced problems like others have). I have always stuck by Legacy, but Im not sure about it prospects anymore (with your port on the stand with sloped 3d floors and soon to have fs support).Graf Zahl wrote: On the other hand, something like the new Legacy version could drive me mad. They have everything laid out in front of them by other ports but what do they do? Create an incompatible MAPINFO! In other words, it will be impossible to do maps that work with both ZDoom and Legacy and use some of the enhanced features exposed through that lump!
Equally bad, it seems they did many linedef types which ZDoom already has differently. There goes all hope of even a minimal set of cross-port compatibility...![]()
Anywho, how about Doom: Decimated

I gathered this just from looking at Legacy's linedef translation table and the MAPINFO stuff from discussions at the Legacy forum. Since I am not really interested in Legacy's development that's all I can say.
