sloped arch using 3d floors, acting very funky

Post by mundungu »

After looking through a number of other sloped 3d floor posts, I've not been able to tackle this problem with 3d floors and slopes.

And have the undersides of that 3d archway... well, arch. I set up the control sectors as normal, assigned the correct flags for 3d floors and slopes, and then went back in to discover this:

You need to move the control sectors off to the side so it lines up with the sectors you want to slope. Not sure if what I said is clear, as it's hard to put into simple words. At least for me.

Oh no, makes PERFECT sense. And that worked! I have a feeling that it wasn't designed with sloping 3d sectors in mind as they still act somewhat strange. Just something to get used to I suppose.

But at LEAST I got that archway put together like I wanted. Thanks for the tip!
