The only reason mine looks any good at all is because I ripped off a web design from Open Source Web Design...and because Grubber was nice enough to retool it a bit for me. (I think it's due for a color change, though...)

I think it would be good if you hostees wrote short intermissions about your sites and post it here, so I can put it next to the screenshots. In case you haven't noticed, this topic is displayed on the main page.

Does DRDTeam have a page counter that hosted sites can use? I currently have a counter through Microsoft bCentral, but they have announced that they will be discontinuing this service after Feb 15, 2006. I suppose I can find another site from which to get a counter, but I thought I'd ask here.

Also, is there a way to keep my page count when I switch counters, or will the counter automatically reset to 0?

Actually, I don't think I'll have too much difficulty with the installation. I do, however, believe I'll need help with retaining the page count. More importantly, is there a way to have a counter that is independent of an external host? [Which is why I asked if DRDTeam has or hosts a counter.] It's important because I could be in the same boat I am in now if the host folds or decides to cancel the service.

Grubber, I looked over a bunch of sites for counters, and the simplest one for me to install seems to be at this site. The code appears concise and straightforward, but it said I will need "write permission":

If you are running this script in a windows hosting account then ask the administrator to give write permission to this file. This is important as we will be writing this file with new data on every page request of the main file.

I couldn't quite understand if this is the case for me to install the counter. Let me know what you need from me before I put the code on my main page. Thanks.

Another page I came across, which seems to offer a much more advanced counter, is here, but is also far more complicated, and I may stay away from it for now.

The first one is far too simple - it counts hits, not visits.

I took the liberty of editing the first post to add my tagline.

The problem for me is that the more advanced the counter code, the more difficult it will be for me to install it. Do you have any recommendations?
