After talking to Chronoteeth on MSN, i have decided that i will resume my work on my Grand Theft Auto 3 inspired mod Criminal Doom. I tested the wad and it seems pretty close to completion. The only remaining issue AFAIK is:
- I have to find a better Molotov Cocktail. I just ripped off the graphic from the Weapons Resource Wad without even modifing it. I need to do something about it.
Other than this, all i have to do is checking if the weapons aren't too overpowered.

Supaaa-Bump!!!
Well. I think i'll remove the molotov cocktails. I will do some more testing and then, i'll work on the credits list. Meanwhile i started working on another weapons mod called DuduKrazy's Guns 3. As the name suggests, it's the sequel to DuduKrazy's Guns 2. I've been working on the mod like crazy and the progress is about 45% complete.
As for the weapons, i've done the best to avoid the jagged edges problem with the model rips. The biggest problem is that i usually have to redraw the frames. In other words, i have to do a boring task of removing the anti-aliasing from the outer edges. At least the results are much better even with the conversion to the doom palette.
Stay tuned for more details of the mod.

Here's some more detail about the two powerups i added:
- The ninja scroll
Basically it's the Tome Of Power. When used, it makes the weapons cause even more damage.
Katana:
Weapon damage is increased when using the scroll. I also added Heretic's tomed staff puff. On the other hand, Alternate fire isn't affected.
Usp Tactical, Xm-8, M3, and M-14:
All these weapons, when using the scroll, fires explosive bullets. I still need to decrease damage because the weapons get too overpowered.
Laser Assault Cannon:
Fires some plasma balls in three directions. Originally it was going to be five directions.
The fists/kick and the kunai aren't affected by the scroll.
- The Stimpack
It's just the default Doom stimpack. The main difference is that you can use it whenever you need it. It's just like the Quartz Flask from Heretic.
My idea is to make most of the default Doom items and powerups go to the inventory when picked up. The only exceptions will be:
- The backpack
- Soulsphere and Megasphere

I really wish you could've picked something that wasn't as cliche'd as Ninjas. I don't know you, but I could take a stab in the dark and say that you're enamoured with Japan in general. Furthermore, and I obviously can't speak for everyone, but the weapons you've chosen...XM8, M3S90, USP, M-14, Katana...these weapons are really overdone, in my opinion. Why not throw in an AK47, or an M16A5 for good measure? Sarcasm aside, maybe, just maybe you can make these overused ideas work.
Doubt it though.

I'm going to assume that you're in disbelief. However, I think it should be brought to your attention that the AK and M16 models have made an appearance in pretty much every game ever made. CounterStrike, most infamously, TrueCombat, The Punisher, Dragon Remix for Jedi Knight 2, Soldat, Goldeneye, AK47.wad, Liberation's Napalm, BattleField 2, the list just goes on and on. It's endless. Where is your God now?Chronoteeth wrote:You think an AK47 and an M16 is overdone.
My god.
I firmly believe that damn-near everyone has seen too much of the AK clones, and too much of the M16 clones. Besides, the M16 is a really shitty rifle.

Doom doesn't have very many AK's, but I am SICK TO DEATH of the M16/M4 clones. Doesn't matter if you call it a Colt Commando or an AR33, it's still an M16 and I frickin' hate it. Why not select an assault rifle that hasn't been done to death, like an Enfield L85A1?
[edit] Or the XM8. I actually kind of like that one, despite it looking almost too futuristic.

Updates: (DuduKrazy's Guns 3)
- New weapon added: M202A1 Rocket Launcher
Source: Resident Evil: Cold Blood HL Mod
Ripped By: Chronoteeth (thanks!!)
Description:
Uses the default Doom rockets as ammo. Normal fire is that regular dumbfire rocket. Using the Ninja Scroll makes the weapon fire four rockets at once. (Two dumbfire rockets and two homing rockets).
I need some rocket firing sounds now.
