Shaders for COLORMAPs

Post by Enjay »

Can someone tell me what difference this option makes? I've tried it on a few WADs that use (G)Zdoom's own coloured lighting etc and I don't notice any difference. However, I don't have any WADs handy that use BOOM-style COLORMAPs (which I suspect it is intended for) so I was just wondering if my assumption about where it is supposed to work is correct and what kind of difference it makes.

You shouldn't see any difference. What it does is to use shaders for invulnerability maps instead of generating additional textures. Logically it's only useful on graphics cards where shaders don't mean a performance hit or when using hires textures.
