What is everyone up to?

Post by Nash »

So... anyone working on any semi-large to large scale GZDoom-exclusive projects?

How about posting some screenies. Let's see what everyone's working on!

PS: I don't have any screenies to post because my computer decided to restart while Doombuilder was saving my wad. POOF. All gone just like that. Luckily I wasn't really THAT far off. But all my resources are gone. >:/

PPS: Damn, it's really quiet in this forum. Really reminds me of the Notgod phorums. Sure does bring back memories. :) Once GZDoom becomes more popular, we can expect that to change though. :/

Anyway! Show off your GZDoom projects here!

I have started a top secret project that I have no name for yet. I have most the resources compiled and I have started on the first map. I am currently working on zdcmp2 but once I have gotten that done I will work getting a demo for this started. I also have the problem of not having a graphics card that supports openGL so I do not know if it will stay as a GZdoom project.

I started a map for GZDooM using the sweet looking The Darkening 2 texture set. I stalled out on the map though. Need to work on it some more. It will be done in the classic style of mapping WITH detail to boot.

I'd like to see an entire episode using that texture set. Darkening 2 is still one of the best looking WADs ever and I'd like to see more of it. ;)

I love Episode 1 and 2. They were too short in my opinion though. The Special Edition that was released sucked ass. Ugh. I still can not believe the author used Quake baddies for the Special Edition.

Some people have no taste. You find surprisingly many of them among Doomsday's users (those hires textures and models they so adore just make me puke!)

Hmm, I ought to use the Darkening texture set. I wonder how well it'd go with nmn Corporation.

Amen to that. I like better graphics as much as the next guy, but that's just for new textures and enhancements that remain true to the doom style. Quakeifying the game with those model and texture packs is something I still haven't gotten over.

Actually, thats 90% of the reason I check the forums everyday, better graphic port staying true to the good stuff.

Well, I would post some screenies of WWE, but the version of the city I have right now is horribly not up to date, as Deathsong12 is working on spiffifying it. But you can see some screens from it in the Woe Without End thread on the Zdoom forums.

Well I checked, and I didn't see any screenshots whatsoever in that thread.

You're talking about this one:

right?

Nmn corporation is certainly darker, but I must admit I did have some inspiration from the Darkening 2 set. The vertical panelling mostly.

Looking forward how would they look together though :)

Huge project here, but since it's not for Gzdoom, no screenshots (the exe will use an OGL renderer though, but no 3d floors or point lights)

Le bump!

Since HIRESTEX was finally activated, I was finally able to continue work on my pet project that I've been working on ever since I joined the Zdoom forums (over a year ago)... Megaman Legends! Basically, it's (hopefully) gonna be a full TC, making generous use of GZDoom's features. Screenshots!

Image
A shot showing off a completely textured room, plus one of the 3D floors. Nothing too special.

Image
A shot showing off one of the other completely textured areas. Running water and all, just like the original.

Image
Shot showing off the new armor sprites. I'll probably end up making them not work like the normal Doom armor, but more like the actual MML armor, in the end.
