Extremely wacky problem in GZdoom.

Advanced OpenGL source port fork from ZDoom, picking up where ZDoomGL left off.

@LO you didn't mention which motherboard you have.

Just as a stab into the dark, does your motherboard have embedded video? If yes, is it disabled?

Which version of Skulltag did you install?

I have tried different resolutions full screen and windowed and its the same.

My motherboard is a DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-d and I am pretty sure that it doesn't have onboard video.

My skulltag version is 97d-r1214

Have you tried older GZDoom's? All versions from 1.0.25-1.0.31 and 1.1.00-1.1.02 are still on the server. You have to edit the download link manually though to get them.

Well I just tried 1.0.31 and it won't even start. I get an error at start. I'll probably try the other versions tomorrow.

UPDATE: I just tried 1.0.25. It starts but the problem is still there. Don't forget this is also for some reason affecting graphics like letters and numbers in the GUI.

Yes, skulltag works. Don't know why but gzdoom just started acting whacked out of nowhere... or so it seems that way.

Ok, in that case I can definitely rule out anything in the code because Skulltag uses the exact same GL code. Something on your system must think that GZDoom needs special treatment and screws up. What happens if you rename GZDoom.exe to something else? Best try 'skulltag.exe' and see what results that might bring.

Good call, sir. That actually fixed the problem. Now I just have to find out what's screwing it up. Have any idea on what it can be? I disabled my program settings in my video drivers affecting gzdoom.exe and it doesn't do anything.

No direct idea. The program settings in the driver would have been my first guess.

So the only thing left would be looking through the Windows registry to see whether it contains anything related to gzdoom.exe. Unfortunately that's not that trivial and even experienced users might not be able to find something.

You can try it though. Start 'regedit' from the Windows 'Run' command and search for 'gzdoom'. Maybe something useful turns up.

Ok. I deleted some stuff that I found in the registry and now gzdoom seems to be working normally again! Thank you for your help. Not sure exactly what the problem was but I'm glad it was fixed. Thanks for finally helping me with this.
