trueSpace 7.6

Post by NeoHippo »

Now, that GZDoom has support for models, some of you might want to have an easy to learn 3D program.

http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSp ... /intro.asp
Microsoft has bought the trueSpace assets from Caligari, and now Caligari makes its premier 3D software trueSpace 7.6 available for free. All one has to do is register a User Account and the download site pops up.

One can then download
the full version of trueSpace 7.6
the manual
the complete library of the videos

Most people will not be familiar with Caligari, so read here what it is capable of
http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/s ... .php?t=893

Should you decide to install tS7.6, it will install with the given User Name.

I grabbed a similar offer a few years ago for an earlier version but was never able to properly get to grips with the program. I fail it I guess. :?

Yeah, I know what you mean. :D

A while ago, I had bought an issue of Personal Computer World which featured a CD with the trueSpace 3.2 program. I had a terrible time figuring out the GUI, until I stumbled upon Kidz Online. They offered a 3D animation course using tS3.2. That made things easier. Unfortunately, this website seems to be in some disarray at present.

The free tutorials, which are offered now by Caligari, again make it a lot more comfortable to use tS7.6

Oh cool! I hope it hasn't changed too much from my old TrueSpace 4 days.

It's not very useful for GZDoom modding as it doesn't have any MD2 or MD3 exporters available.

For game modding you could use Caligari's gameSpace.

There is also their free program gameSpace-light. Of course it has some restrictions.

Bah, who cares?
Bunch of crews made 3D models, and also Highres textures.
They are NEVER used !!!
Why?
Because Doom is no more Doom with 3D models !

Only if you are not supposed to be downloading the full version. This one is being offered by the software manufacturer.

Torrents are perfectly legal, as themselves. It's what they link to, that can sometimes be illegal.

Considering that, some companies (for example, Blizzard Entertainment) take advantage of the bandwidth offered by other users to distribute patches and game content. They use torrent technology to achieve this, and the torrent can even be extracted from the executable and used in a torrent program.
