Questions about Multibarreled Guns

Post by DoomRater »

Well I'm kinda starting out with modelling weponry and I ws wondering if anyone could hel me out with making my powered multibarrel weapon look better. I have a picture of it up in my DA scraps, though I'm not sure what to add next to make it look better.

...this was easier when it was made specifically to be a robot arm, but meh, whatever.

Here is the link for anyone who might be intrested. Yes I will smoothen out the studs in the final product- I was just playing around to see what I could build at that time.

They are a familiar media. I've been working with Legos for a long time and they're what I've used to shape lots of things, including robots, vehicles, and guns.

Anyway, what should be added to this? Where should I put the handles and such? Any extra features that should be edited in later? (obviously more detail but that comes after I get the final shape)

What I don't understand is why I wasn't watching the topic when I replied.

There are plenty of free and/or cheap 3d modeling programs out there, some of which are very good or even compareable to Max in some ways. If you're interested, I can pound up a list of some of the free/cheap 3D modeling programs I know of.

I have a key for Maya that came with my copy of UT Y2K4. The sad part is that I lost the key.

Why not look up GMax? It's a somewhat stripped down version of 3D Studio Max from what I've heard...free, too.

A program I used a while ago, when I was making test models for weapon replacements in Doom, was Anim8or. It's a very easy to use program, and you don't have to be a professional or know a great deal about modeling to make something good in it. On the flip side, I'm sure it's not anywhere near as powerful as 3DSMax or even Blender, another free but more powerful modeling program (however, I've heard Blender is hard to use), and its rendering options could be better.

Still, it is completely free! You can even make Anime Girls!*

*If that's your thing. ;)

Yes , i does costs more than 3000$...Only for you my foreign friend...In Russia it costs 3$...So any idiot can buy it and use it...Surely it's illegal copy of such a nice product.CD content includes a little crack-program , so ya can registrate your 3DSMAX for free...

In another words , i am A VERY BAD person.I help pirates get their dirty money...And i am happy :P
