[All] Rendering a height difference of 1 unit

Post by Enjay »

I noticed this problem in a WAD of mine - My Heretic Thief WAD - but the attached example is for Doom2.

If I make a floor 1 unit taller than the surrounding sector, it seems to be getting rendered almost as if it was the same height as the surrounding sector and that the edges of the higher sector (which are correctly applied to the lower side defs) look almost as if they are 1 unit tall textures applied to the middle of the sidedefs. This is GZdoom only. Zdoom displays it as intended.

Test WAD attached.

I don't know if you have specifically addressed this but this test file (and other files where I have seen the problem) now looks fine in r377 and r378. I didn't check with versions prior to that.

I noticed the same problem a few months ago in the official version of GZDooM. [Nigel, for an example look at the huge Test Lab in Map02 of Paranoid - the bolts on the concrete floor plate of the broken ladder exhibit this bug.]

Yes, it's fixed. I forgot to move this report.
