Blob shadows?

I'm starting to try to use GLDEFS for light definitions, is it possible to make blob shadows for actors? If anyone has an example showing this, I'd love to see it. Does anyone know if making blob shadows has any adverse effect on models, seeing as models tend to interact strangely with dynamic lights.
