Strange texture behaviour

Post by Nash »

The areas where I circled with white are the problems.

They appear totally black.

They only happen when I have dynamic lights.

Why is this happening? How do I fix it?

Looks like a bug. Could you send me the WAD?

Okay, I've sent you PM. Please reply here though.

Remember you'll need Tormentor's Blood Resource Pack to see the textures.

These textures face away from the light so they don't get lit. you never should try to light an entire scene by dynamic lights. Always use a reasonable amount of ambient light to make it look good.

I dunno... Personally, I think it looks kinda cool like that. I may have to do some experimenting myself with dynamic lights as the main source of lighting...

Doom has always displayed textures facing exactly north/south darker than usual, east/west lighter than usual (or is that the other way round?) and any other angle as a usual. If not Doom than ZDoom definitely does it.

But that has nothing to do with this. The GL renderer never does this shitty looking fake contrast.
