My anti virus detects that GZdoom is trying to get keyboard
access. Why in the world does it need that? I got scared because I thought it was a keylogger or something. I did get it form the OFFICIAL site. But why does the program need access to my keyboard? Zdoom doesn't need that.

It doesn't do anything different than ZDoom. This looks like a false alert of your antivirus program.
Of course both ZDoom and GZDoom do have to access the keyboard in order to use it for controlling the game. Any game does.
Anyway, which versions of ZDoom and GZDoom are you using? Maybe something changed in the keyboard code between them.

And which antivirus program are you using. Any antivirus program can throw out a few false positives but AVG, for example, is getting a bit of a reputation for it.
Does your antivirus service have a facility for you to submit a suspect file to them? That's a good way to clear up an false positive: you send them the file, they check it and realise that it's not infected, they update their virus definitions, the false positive goes away.

I'm using Comodo Internet Security. I did submit the files to Comodo for analysis and they found them safe. Using the latest version of GZdoom.

I suspect that you mean the latest official release versions but would you mind opening the console of both Zdoom and GZdoom and noting down what it says in the bottom right corner (and posintg the numbers here)? "The latest version" can have a number of different meanings to different people (eg latest official version, latest SVN revion...)Dan50 wrote:Using the latest version of GZdoom.

Kaspersky Internet Security has this to say

etc, etc, ......
In any case, as already stated, it's a false positive and nothing to worry about. It's been doing this for as long as I can remember.

I wonder how you'd control your movements and actions in the game if mouse & keyboard input wasn't accessed.
As far as being a keylogger, I'm sure everyone is typing their passwords only when playing Doom, so it'd make sense to use a Doom port for nefarious purposes, wouldn't it?
