Wow, I bet I know who made that Luger, haha.

I'm kind of interested in what you had cooked up for the Luger, mind if I see the code for it? (No matter how weird that sounds, lol)

Marty: I'll send you the Glock as soon as I get the chance. Today's actually busy, mostly from preperation for Thanksgiving.

The Stranger

The magnum reload was sped up and redesigned, with new sounds.

I also added some lines to the FSGLOBAL lump, so the clip-fed weapons now start with a partially filled clip when you first get them. This way you can just grab and shoot like you can in a mod that doesn't make you reload.

Also did a lot more stress testing with ksutra.wad.

The Stranger
  • Got around to making the weapon pickup switcheroo.
  • Luger's accuracy was tightened up to 1/1 (instead of 3/3).
  • Fixed the pickup message for the pack of shells - shotgunners can drop packs, and they'll no longer say "picked up 4 shells" even though it only gives 2 and is only intended to give 2.
  • Added a new pickup sprite for the 100 Health (my replacement for Berserk, because it doesn't work anymore on my Fist).
  • Tomorrow, I'll try and get to work on the Double Magnums and Demon Arm - then I'll just have the last couple of weapons left to do.

Progress updates have been few and far between I notice...I really haven't done anything with the mod since the 22nd, outside of the occasional bug fix (and increasing the Luger's power by a point). I've been screwing about with the mod a lot though recently.

I'm not gonna let a system reinstall get in the way of progress! Despite the fact that I spent the better part of yesterday reformatting and reinstalling my computer FROM SCRATCH, I managed to not only complete my Newstuff reviews this week and submit them, but I also have most of my Doom utils and projects set back up. So here goes today's work:

The Stranger

- Added Heavy Machine Gun. Slow, powerful, slightly inaccurate, no reloads.
- Added the projectile for the Crossbow Fire Bolt. I'll have to get PSP back before I can do the view graphics for it. The fire bolt explodes into a shower of sparks upon contact.
- Reorganized the enemy weapon drops - now the pistol zombies have a small chance of dropping the Auto-Pistol, the Chaingunners no longer drop Auto-Pistols and instead drop Assault Rifles.

The Stranger

- New enemies - the Assault Mecha v7 and Perscan Drone from ww-xm, the Tortured Soul from the monster resource wad, and (partially) a new Chaingunner replacement. Just looking for new graphics.
- Weapons numbering has been changed to much a more logical setup.
- The dual pistols are now dropped - which makes it more necessary to finish making the damn dual pistols.
- Replaced HMG's sound with a higher quality sound.
- Chaingunners now drop the right ammo.

Something tells me that this arctic wolf project will lead TS to it's demise. :(

It'll lead TimeSplitters to it's demise? What the Hell does Artic Wolf have to do with Free Radical Design?

I am still working on The Stranger. I just happen to have an absurd amount of free time and thought that I would be able to take up a secondary project like Arctic Wolf.

It sure helps that I don't have a job or school to attend to. (Not from lack of trying either.)

I think it'd be super hot to replace all the enemies.. somewhat.

That's just what I'm wishing, for some reason :D

And delay the mod even longer? For shame tawm!

But i'm sure the new enemies will suffice. Gonna give that hard as hell assault mecha whats coming to em.
