[All 2.x] Compatibility problem with MSI Afterburner 4.0.0

Post by playerlin »

System spec: https://sites.google.com/site/playerlin ... 294832.png

I'm sure it may get "not GZDooM"-ed due it looks like the MSI Afterburner 4.0.0 Final(with RivaTuner Statistics Server 6.2.0.7500) broke the screen wipe transition in all GZDooM 2.0 versions for some reasons, it make screen flickering/nothing happened until transition ends.

If I use latest build of GZDooM 1.9-pre series, and working fine, seem only affected on 2.0 series.

Problem in action(no sound for some reasons...):

Due not participated the 2.0.x benchmarks so I never know this problem until now.
Yes, disabling MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner Statistics Server 6.2.0.5700/or make its message displays doesn't working on GZDooM 2.0 exe will make GZDooM's screen wipe transition working again.

But for some reasons, I needed it running...... :|

If I needed to report this problem to the author of MSI Afterburner, I'll report this problem to them. :)

Well, sorry, but what do you expect me to do if your graphics card doesn't play nicely with GZDoom and overclocking? This sounds like turning it on somehow prevents the screen from getting read which is needed to perform the wipe.

Yeah, I know. Oh... I didn't use its overclocking functions, just use other things else, like fan speed controlling, video recording and showing system time when I playing games... :p

Well, I'm not sure what I should do now, the game still working fine(looks like), or go back use latest build of 1.9-pre. :(

Has indeed a problem with Afterburners hook :(

I use Afterburner for recording videos. But the hook of Afterburner messes up the graphics totally o.o

For me its not the wipe only. The complete graphic is messed up.

Tried DXTory now.

The graphic doesnt get messed up by it, but no wonder:
It cant even hook the game.

I cant record the freaking game now :(

Only Fraps is able to hook and record it without any problems - but I hate Fraps :(

edit: Got it working with Afterburner. Change the Overlay(OSD) method to Vector 2D - this way it works ;)

Ok, I consider this 'not GZDoom' then.

But not on my end, I already use Vector 2D(other 2 option never worked, seriously glitched out / game totally running fine but overlay shows nothing) in RTSS(RivaTuner Statistics Server)'s setting when I did this report, I tried messed around Afterburner/RTSS setting, but screen wipe transition still doesn't work...

I guess I should sent mail to the author of Afterburner about this problem...
