Necromancy rises up agian...
I have planed to make a mod that is based off of my name and necromancy. I plan to do atleast 6, maybe more weapons (and maybe some other goodies). I have the plans for most of them but there is one major problem. I have no sprites and I am terrible at making my own. So if anyone wants to make them for me that would be awesome (just pm me if you want to). Here is the discription of the weapons that I already planned (any comments on them would be nice).
note: all weapons will be powered up by the tome of power
New ammo: Dead Soul (gives 1 dead soul)
Soul Sphere (gives 3 dead souls)
Skeletal Staff: like raise dead in warcraft 3. Sacrifices a dead soul to spawn two skeletons to attack the enemy (they only have melee attacks. The powered up version creates more powerful skeltons that have a ranged attack.
Quake Staff: sacrifices a dead soul to channel its anger into the ground to create a shockwave. The powered up version causes an earthquake (that will be complete with the whole effect).
Sacrific Staff: not sure how I am gonna do this but it sacrifices a dead soul to protect its caster (causes the player to have invincibility but cannot shot another weapon while the effect is still on). The powered up version sends the attacks back at the monsters (probably wont work for hitscan attacks but I will work on that).
Annihilator Staff: sacrifices a bunch of dead souls to bring the underworld to your enemies and (in the case of demons) send them back to where they came from. The powered up version brings Satan up with the underworld to torment those who survive the first way.

This topic should be in Development Journals.
The weapon ideas sound pretty good, but I'm not entirely sure how you're going to go about making them work.
As for the resources...
Skeletal Staff - Maybe you could get the Life Leech staff from Blood to use on it. It's made of bones, and has a nice big skull at the top, and hasn't been used in any mods to my knowledge.
Quake Staff - I think there was a nice staff in Powerslave (might have been in the demo, too) that was in the shape of a cobra, and had this awesome "decay" effect on the arms when you used it (raising it over your head and slamming it to the ground).
I can't think of any good ones for the other two though...

When I was working on a Powerslave mod for EDGE years ago, I actually replaced the chainsaw with my own version of the staff. At the time, EDGE didn't support animated raise states, atleast not without hacking, so I had to make the graphics much larger than they really were (they were about 320 x 200, if I remember correctly) so they didn't look awkward when they raised onto the screen. Because of the sheer hugeness of the sprites, it kind of fuxxored the weapon bobbing, but it still worked for the most part. The graphics for the mummy staff are still in the final version of the game, somewhere in the main game data file, along with some other unused graphics.wildweasel wrote:Quake Staff - I think there was a nice staff in Powerslave (might have been in the demo, too) that was in the shape of a cobra, and had this awesome "decay" effect on the arms when you used it (raising it over your head and slamming it to the ground).

Powerslave is one of the games for the build engine. You can find info on it and other here:

Because I was bored, I decided to rip all the cobra staff frames, the pickup graphics, and the actual projectiles from Powerslave for you, Necro. Also included are the mummy staff frames, even the ones I wasn't sure what they were used for. There is no pickup graphic for the mummy staff because I believe the weapon was dropped from the full game, but the sprites remained in the main game .dat file.
