Teleport flash sprites
Just a little something I was playing with to amuse myself. It's nothing fancy, and could do with a bit of polish: perhaps the alignment of the sprites could be a little better (lower) and maybe the sizes tweaked too. Whatever, I just thought it looked kind of cool. It also establishes that these kind of sprites can be put to good effect in GZDoom and perhaps someone might be able to use the idea better elsewhere.
It's just some flare effects I grabbed from Aliens vs Predator and stuck into a WAD as PNG sprites. Do what you like with them.
Load 'em up and go teleport somewhere (or watch other things teleporting - or even just summon TeleportFog).

Yeah, I thought the sound seemed out of place with the new graphics too.
Another one. This time I played with the plasma sprites. Seeing them in game I definitely should have made the flare effect darker/smaller but again it helps establish a principle.

Thanks for all the +ve comments. Like I said, these are all really just me mucking around with stuff. They could certainly be improved.
OK. Again it can certainly be improved on. I think maybe I went a little OTT with this one: it's far too big for small corridors.Tormentor667 wrote:Make this for the BFG!

Yeah, I think the central balls are aligned properly with each other, but the halo around them is slightly asymetrical so it you see that "bobbing" rather than the central ball. I've updated using the same halo for each ball. I think it looks a bit better.Tormentor667 wrote:because the flying BFG ball is bopping
