You seem to be mixing them pretty well.chopkinsca wrote:Sadly, Doom and forests don't mix.

Ask NMN or Eriance for help, I think they could both do something for youchopkinsca wrote:Yeah, I wanted an axe, but not a fancy one like from Hexen, so I tried to draw my own. No idea if I'm going to try and colour/draw it better or just leave it the way it is now.Chronoteeth wrote:OMG, is that a... hand axe I see in one of the screen?

Personally, I'd rather a moderate looking weapon that I did myself as opposed to an awesome looking weapon done by someone else. The more I use the axe I created, the more I think I should leave it as it is. But any tips they have on drawing would be welcome. Some day I should go through their weapon threads to see if there's any useful general advice there.Tormentor667 wrote: Ask NMN or Eriance for help, I think they could both do something for you
I'm trying my best to not use resources from other sources such as another iwad, but I can't avoid it in some instances. For one, monsters are a problem. Most of the standard doom monsters don't really fit the theme of this project. Any of the tech type monsters such as the zombies, arachnotron and mancubus don't fit in. Quite a few of the Hexen monsters do fit in, and I plan on using quite a few, although I would like to limit the number I steal (if I can help it). The project started out as a Hexen map, so already I have quite a few resources from Hexen when I converted it to a doom2 map.
I suppose it isn't too bad, there are a number of doom maps that have a lot of the Hexen monsters added in. Herian and Void are two that I can think of and I don't really hear bad things about those maps using hexen resources.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Oh yeah, thanks for all the kind words and support.
One more thing, I thought I'd post one of the axe sprites, for those that wonder what it looks like in full.

But... it is made of concrete. :OPaul wrote:Blade appears to be made of concrete. I advise you to add some contrast to the blade
Yeah, the blade is what stands out the most for anything I need to change. It's the only part visible when it's in it's ready state. I'll see what I can do to give it more of a metal feel (or maybe a primitive stone axe). That will be when I'm not too lazy to do the angled versions of it again.
Edit: I tried to give the blade a rusty iron look to it, but nothing I was capable of doing looked good. I decided to go with a stone look instead. Came up with this:

Fixed the arm a little bit so it looks less deformed as well.
