Move with actors?

Post by Cutmanmike »

Would a flag be possible for this? Say if you had an actor moving around by either monster movement or by action specials and you were ontop of it and the flag was on the actor, you would move with it? Sorta like a moving platform.

If I remember correctly, ROTT supports such a feature. It was a lot of fun.

I was wondering if this had been requested or not... Well, I guess it has been, now. And yeah, this would be monumentally useful in making moving platforms and such, while using models in place of sprites for said platforms. I think.

Or in another case using models instead of 3D Floors!

-- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't have a problem with making 3-D floors move up and down. I am curious if it is possible to make them move horizontally. Kind of like a poly obj that moves. I would like to be able to make a walkway slide out from across a moat and be able to walk on it and under it. I don't want to 'ride' it (although that might be cool too!). I just want it to 'move' into place so I can walk across it. If there is a way to do it using scripting, could you show how to do it? Thanks in advance.
My earlier post asked about it using 3-D floors but I don't really care how it's done. It is still a great idea! Someone will figure it out.

I made a sort of demo thing with platforms using 3d models. It works, but monsters dont move while ontop of them.... Either that or it was the way I had it setup. If you want I can make a test map for you if you want.

That's the whole point of this feature request - the current behaviour is that you do NOT move with the moving actor under you - you'll just fall off once the thing under you moves away...

Or even better, riding the rockets! I have a feeling this might not get added though.

But... ROTT had it... it shouldn't be too hard, should it?

*cry*
