GZDoom doesnt load compressed files that arent compressed with the Deflate algorithm. Attached wad using the BZip2 algorithm for proofs.

Allrigh mate, you just broken a rule
Make another post with cursing/evident jackass aditude and you're banned. This is my first, and final warning. Period.
Sure everyone has the right to complain, but everyone is obligated to behave properly.
But knowing you it's not a surprise. That was your last post written in such an asshole fashion on our boards and I only leave it for Graf to read and not delete it.Keep your posts and comments civilized.

Good luck finding support for such Zips in non-archiving programs. GZDoom only supports deflate because it uses ZLIB and that can't handle anything else. And I really don't see much need to support a format that is so rare that I haven't seen it before.
As for this post, I don't see any reason to comment that. But this discussion is over and you are not welcome here.

I do always love when graf speaks for the community as a whole. It compliments his personality too.
And if you've never heard of BZip2 then I would like to welcome you to 2006. Among other things, we have the wonderful Wikipedia which may be used to learn about most everything, and Google where you can simply search for whatever you wish to find. And the precious WinZip you seem to think is so great now supports BZip2 compression as well.
Good day.
EDIT: lol phpBB
EDIT2: oh its no use talking to someone who can edit my posts, and probably feels its his right to do whatever he pleases.

So, WinZip creates a new non-standard extension to the Zip format and what happens: The resident moron comes along whining that these files don't work with all software!
Well, that's life. Good luck loading them with JDoom or other Zip-supporting engines like Quake3/Doom4. They won't be able to do much with them either.
And no, I won't edit your post (for now.) There's other people who have to judge your irritating behavior first. But my advice is to visit a psychiatrist to treat your compulsively hostile tendencies. You are in dire need of help so go look for it!

BZip2 is in no way nonstandard. Lets go through some dates. The compression algorithm has existed since 1996. 7-zip has supported compression and deflation through it since at least 2003, possibly earlier. WinRAR has supported deflating it since some of the earliest versions of the program. I believe WinZIP supported deflation a few versions before. BZip2 is in no way strange or obscure. End.
The point of this whole thread is dont try to force people into using one format with one compression method. For one its useless, for another its absolutely pointless. If something isnt delivered with capacity to function with GZDoom automatically it might not have been meant to. n0es.
Perhaps its simply useless talking to you.

I'm well used to these personal attacks from you, and expect nothing more.Graf Zahl wrote:But my advice is to visit a psychiatrist to treat your compulsively hostile tendencies. You are in dire need of help so go look for it!
