Hello. Got a problem with GZDoom

Advanced OpenGL source port fork from ZDoom, picking up where ZDoomGL left off.

Hello. Got a problem with GZDoom

Post by Evil Watermelon »

Hello. Just registered on these forums with a problem. Just today my Dad took my PC apart and put a new graphix card in. Since then, GZDoom has been acting all weird.

When I launched up GZDoom, It wasn't in OpenGL. It looks just like ZDoom.

Got proof here. This is a screenie of Tormentor 667's Sapphire, which works with GZDoom.

The skybox is a big pink screen. And It was the same with the title pic.

All this weird crap has been happening since I got my new graphics card. Can you guys help me??

And sorry with the screenies being all damn big and stuff. I dont know how to scale them down with ImageShack. Meh :glare:

Have you tried enabling OpenGL from the menu. That's unlilkely to be the problem, but worth trying.

With a new graphics card, especially one installed by a dad ;) , it's likely that the drivers haven't been installed properly, or at all. My guess is that you're currently running the Windows default drivers or something. DL the latest drivers for the card and install them.

What kind of card is it anyway?

Under "Display options" if there is a menu option that says "Enable OpenGL System", that's the one you want. If it says "OpenGL Options" GZDoom should already be running in OpenGL mode and the menu choise will take you to further OpenGL options. So, if you are not running in OpenGL mode, you should see the "Enable OpenGL System" choice. I still think drivers are the most likely thing here.

Make sure all the drivers for the older video card are uninstalled.. then also uninstall the drivers for the ATI video card...

After that, install the latest drivers for that video card. Whether or not you are using the ATI CCC or CP, make sure the Mipmap Slider is set to High Quality or Quality (which is all the way to right or one notch before that).
