[Realm 667] Revision 6 Developement

Post by Tormentor667 »

So, still, I can't work on DOOM maps, thx goes to my dead gfx-card, so I thought about finally another design for my Realm667, Revision 6 to be more precise (yes the logo tells v5 but this is just a type). Currently I started to get well known to Mambo, a PHP CMS, and I am also already working on a new design. Here is a small logo, so you get an idea.

I will deliver more WIP shots here, so maybe some of you can give feedback or ideas, how to improve what I've got so far ;)

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for here, aside that this is a pretty logo :) as you provide those wips maybe I'll get a better idea of feedback.

So far, the only suggestion I'd suggest is to make the page of 2 frames, one with context, other with the menu, so the menu stays on the side of the page and I don't have scroll up to reach it.

Thx Paul, right now it's just the logo but you can already see what's behing this all, the style of the design you know :) Conc. the 2frames thing, I'm not sure if this makes sense, as the CMS isn't based of frames... but I will see if there are other solutions so you dont have to scroll

I knew when I read the title of this thread that the first line would start something like "As I can't edit for doom..." :P

However, I can't comment as these are imageshack images, and it appears peergaurdian has made it's triumphant return, and choked my internet access once again.

This doesn't sound like a good critique :( Does it look bad?

Well it's not particulary bad - in technical terms. I suppose it would be a bit of aproblem for me to do something like that.
But it's just fruitcake - I mean, flowers? In doom? Make peace not doom? This looks like T667 was smoking too much.

I would suggest using some other object than these flower shaped splashes.

Well, sure, flowers on Doom would be a bit strange, but this page isn't just doom related, so why not? Beyond... when I added these things, I ddin't know in particular, that these are flowers... I just used these shapes because they looked nice somehow :) Nevertheless, I will keep them, maybe my alternate design for my page will have something different ;)

At least they are not stars ;) would make the site look like a 60's disco.

Nah, that'd be more like an early 70's disco.

The design is very "flower power" though. I'm not saying that's a bad thing. In fact I quite like it. I also like the hint of Doom floor texture in there which is a nice contrast to the "hippy" feel of it.

Groovy baby!

It's too orange...I liked the old cyan-on-grey style better, personally.

I have one suggestion: don't use FrontPage to make your site, use some WYSIWYG editor that follows html standards, or do it yourself in notepad ;).

@Grubber - Don't worry, I will use Dreamweaver for the Designtemplates and Mambo itself to produce the content (this is a PHP/MySQL CMS)

Request 1: Make it not slow.
The way it looks now it'll eat a minute or so before displaying properly.
Request 2: Make it not require a certain browser or minimum monitor resolution.
