Same as:

http://forum.drdteam.org/viewtopic.php?t=2217

But I'm wondering why you get a Windows message box instead of a crash log.

The crash log should come up whenever GZDoom crashes, no exceptions.

However, try setting gennodes 0 in the console (to turn off automatic BSP building) and see if the WAD loads. I don't know if turning off genglnodes would cause errors ingame though.

Since I used GZdoom , there isn't any crash log when GZDoom crashed , and I have no idea why it happens.

You can't turn off building of GL nodes. Their presence is necessary to render the level.

Well, he could just build them outside of the game, correct?

With ZDBSP 1.9 the same would have happened. The bug was in the node builder code.

Using GlbspX, both of the nodes can be built: the normal nodes and the Gl nodes.
You could try it.

It's to you to decide what please you. Both of these ports are great, each one for its own features.
Personnaly, I migrated from Legacy to Gzdoom after more than 5 years of exclusive use, not the contrary... Thus, I'm still supporting it.

I played a little bit Batman with Legacy, then with Gzdoom... Legacy can't handle all those tricks used to build the maps, Gzdoom can. Legacy is fine to play Legacy's maps.

Anyway, both of these ports may give you pleasure, and that's the most important thing.

For your problem: Graf answered to you that "The bug was in the node builder code."
So, use another nodes builder, that's it. It's why I thought that GlbspX could help you.

After reporting this bug to Randy he immediately fixed it so it's gone in 1.0.21.

I changed to use Gzdoom because of the missing texture bug in Doom Legacy. THIS BUG LET ME STUCK ON MANY PWAD LEVELS... :(
(this bug isn't fully sovled on some pwads and I'm lazy to fix...)

But, I'm believe a thing --- Legacy is a good port!
(Except annoying bugs and long time no updated... *faint* )
And I get more ZDoom wads , so I changed to use GZDoom port to play.

I'm still waiting Legacy v2.0...

====

Addition : I had question...
How to get the crash log of GZDoom? Does it need some set-up or something...?
