Capstone's Build games tend to be pretty flaky nowadays, even with programs like DOSBox. Still, I know for a fact that you can get both Witchaven and its sequal to run just fine under XP with the right tweaks. Try searching for a program called VDMSound and a site called "Build in XP" with your search engine of choice.

Haven't had that happen before, odd. Your problem could be a sound issue. I know you had to patch certain Build engine games due to a bug with reverbing sound effects. Something to that effect, anyway. It takes a bit of tinkering to get VDMSound to work with a program, and I'm just too lazy to post what I've learned. :/

The game does work with DOSbox, so that can't be it right?
