You must have done something wrong because the feature works. Are your files in a sub directory inside the zip called "music"?
Here, try this crappy example that replaces the title music and the map01 music with short, almost looping mp3s.

Heh, I meant this one.

Anyway, glad it's all sorted out and you've got it working.Enjay wrote:Should do. It works for everyone else. You must have done something wrong. What exactly did you do?
Also, check the "other music volume" slider in the sound options just in case.
[edit] I should have mentioned, if you put the mp3s into a zip, they need to be in a sub folder called "music".[/edit]

I managed to load up a metallica MP3 using XWE, and it worked, but when I try to zip it and loaded it the music wouldn't play.
Now, the demo I'm planning to record is going to be long, so it'll need more than one song if I don't want the same one looping over and over. I've reduced the bit rate of four of my favorite metal songs for the purposes of this small project.
I put the four mp3s I wanted to use into a zip file together named music and tried loading that up using XWE. It failed, obviously, as even if this method can be employed I don't know what to name the songs so that GZDoom will recognize and play them.
So, I can't think how to do what you guys are describing here. Could one of you please walk me through the steps for this?
edit; I just realized that if I really wanted to I could copy/paste the audio files together into one mp3 using Audacity and make it work that way. But I'd still like to know about this other way of doing it, if you'd care to explain.

yeah, so obviously I don't know how to do that, genius
Help would be appreciated.
edit; I am not at my home computer, so I am not able to test this now... but is it possible to archive a folder instead of files? Would I archive a folder named "music" with the mp3s inside it, and name the zipped folder "D_e3m1", and load it into XWE?
