Online support?

Advanced OpenGL source port fork from ZDoom, picking up where ZDoomGL left off.

Online support?

Post by spacepirate »

Hi there,

I am new here and I couldn't find it anywhere. But is it possible to make maps with 3D floors and then play it online? So maps like FFA and Capture the Flag?

Oh and is it also possible to map for GZdoom in DoomBuilder??

Hope to see a reply soon.

Cheers.

GZDoom does not support in game joining but SkullTag, ZDaemon and Odamex do. SkullTag has some GZDoom features and all three ports have CTF support. I think ZDaemon has the best CTF support. You can also see this page for more information.

It is possible to map with GZDoom. Check the download page.

Unfortunately, Skulltag and the like do not yet have support for 3D floors, and I'm not sure if any of them have plans to implement it.

With ACS scripting, though, you might be able to engineer a CTF mode for GZDoom, so you could make a CTF map with 3D floors and such.

Too bad,

Then I guess stay with ZDaemon.... all I want is 3D floors online. :)

Just for the record, if ZDoom supported 3D floors in software then Skulltag would. It just needs to happen first!

If Graf Zahl would be here he would answer it with:"ZDoom's renderer is more optimized than Legacy's, so I see no way of adding 3D Floors in a renderer this complex!"

But it's a good thing that it is more optimized. On a somehow Legacy hasn't got that "DooM Feeling", just like JDooM, it's all so... weird. :/

Too bad GZdoom also has it. This sounds weird but the movement is too smooth. Play ZDaemon and you know what I mean. But fuck that because 3D floors kicks ass!

Go to the console and type CL_CAPFPS 1. There, no more smooth for you.
