[Project] Doom 3 on GZDoom

Well , the project name says everything you need to know about it. Its a Doom 3 conversion for GZDoom 1.0.32 and it´s still under development , we hope we can use most of GZDoom effects (such as 3D floors , ACS Scripts , Md2 models) to create a wad very similar to ID´s Doom 3. Some features of the wad are written below:

- PDA
- Doom 3 HD Textures (no resize)
- Doom 3 HUD
- Doom 3 3D models (converted into md2)
- Doom 3 maps (built with 3D-floors and with GZDoom light effects)

The goal of this project is to make Doom 3 playable on old computers through this wad pack.

The pictures look very cool. I also saw the pictures that you had linked to from New DooM, and I must say that the project looks promising.

That's really pretty good. Obviously at no point was I fooled into thinking I was playing Doom3 but the look is very good and it feels like it is shaping up to be a high quality mod. 8-)

Those spiders are certainly as annoying as they were in D3 anyway. :P

When you play Mars City map (with 3D-floors) , I think you´ll really feel like playing Doom 3. :wink:

I hope so! Because it isn´t easy to convert Doom 3 to an engine with less resources than the ID Tech 4.

This thread needs moar screenshots :P looking pretty good doom 3 was boring as f*ck looking forward to this.

The demo level is very small. There aren't that many places to take screenshots from.

Do you have any other levels to tease us with? :)

Yep! I have others screenshots , but these screenshots are from levels that are under development!

Thanks for the new shots I really like that hangar shot I can see its unfinished but it looks very good allready I can see you guys stick to the orignal layouts of doom 3 as close as possible.

Are you guys going to remake all of the doom 3 maps or just an small part and what about monsters will they all be present?Good luck with the project I'll be sure to check this one out when its done doom 3 maps with classic gameplay yummie :p

We pretend to remake all Doom 3 maps , but if some map is much complex then we will try to adaptate it to GZDoom engine without many quality loss. About monsters , we will convert md5 models of Doom 3 to md2 models and then program these converted models through DECORATE , as a result these monsters will look like Doom 3 monsters.

Did you manage to convert the Doom 3 model animations across aswell? If so how? I can convert md5meshes into md2 easy -but I'm forced to reanimate.
Nice project, it's been a while since I've played Doom 3 since my laptop can't render it right so it's nice to play it low sec.

Well , we prefer don´t re-animate it , but on this Imp , for example , we had to re-create some animations and textures for the model. And we´re looking for a good model conversion program , do you know a good one?
