Setting up textures in XWE

Post by Lucius Octavion »

This is something that's been buggin me a long time. Don't know if I'm just plain stupid or what. In XWE whenever you import textures whether they be from hexen or heretic or whatever, it always changes them to the doom pallette. I can solve this by replacing it with a different PLAYPAL lump, but the thing is, I want all the texures to be displayed right no matter what. Gzdoom can handle that. All I want to do is make levels using any textures that I want without having to worry about the colors being obscured in the game.

The other thing is I want them to be displayed correctly in doom builder. Is there any way I can do all this?

I think you need latest version of XWE - "XWE beta" or something...

As Reinchard says, get the XWE "beta", which allows you to automatically import textures in raw data format. Even the "official" version, v1.16, allows you to import them in raw data format, but you need to specify that when you import them.

I believe that when you have textures in raw data format they will be displayed correctly in DooM Builder.
