Missing upper & lower textures
Is there a cvar etc. to disable GZDoom's automatic filling-in of missing upper and lower textures? (so that wads with illusory floors/ceilings etc. display those tricks correctly)

I don't understand what you want to switch off. The gaps are mostly filled in like in the software renderer except for some really dirty tricks I was unable to emulate.

Re: Missing upper & lower textures
Stuff like in this example wad. Each pit between the sets of 4 lamps has missing upper/lower textures to hide it. ZDoom keeps all of them that way, GZDoom replaces the missing textures on the middle pit (where slopes are involved) and unhides it.
(and yes I've just discovered it affects illusio-pits in sloped sectors only)

Sorry, can't change. The calculations of these things with slopes are too complicated.
What is this for? Anything for a new map you are doing or to properly see some old WAD?

Just old wads, and it's only visuals (unlike the voodoo bug/invuln behaviour change which actually breaks gameplay on a couple) so nothing to worry about.
