menu not showing up

apparently when i open up gzdoom and open the menu nothing shows up. and I'm using the latest version. this has happened with the past versions and it won't stop. also if i don't load anything like project brutality the backdrop is just black

Please post an exact version number along with your spec, graphics hardware in particular. Is there any version that worked without this problem?
