Nah, the title was more a jab at the generic weapons mods you used to see floating around. Admittedly, I suppose there haven't been too many weapons mods at all lately. Think alandoguns though
Your mods LC, could be 'shitty' in their own right (Ie, a lot of people dislike the cartoony style) but quite honestly, your .wads have always been immensely enjoyable. Which pretty much makes you the only person who can 'pull off' MSPaint graphics in Doom =p

I'm not dead and neither is my Doom mod, but the computer I was using is (technically). Some nasty ass virus or spyware or something got onto it and everything's all fucked up and shit. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve all of the necessary items needed to continue work on my Doom mod. Also, I'm getting a new laptop but it's not coming in for a while... :/
I was in the middle of working on two new enemies before this shit went down. I was making a mech enemy similar to the ones from Metal Slug 3. It's those Rebel Army mechs. I was also making a Heavy Machinegunner guy which is replacing the Arachnotron. I was drawing some random doodles and I came up with another Mech type enemy for the mod. If I ever get around to finish making the new enemies, I might release a demo.

Semi-bad news, though at least it's news. Today's computers don't seem to have very lengthy life-spans =p I can't use it, but I can still boot up my Pentium 133 into 95. Guess they really don't make things like they used to
Oh well, good to hear that you were actually making some progress on your mod, and that you're thinking of releasing a demo. I can't wait to blast away those new enemies, heh. Anyway, rock on LC

I just got my laptop today
The bad news is that I can't get wintex to work. I also can't get XWE to work also. Wintex is missing some kind of dll file or something and XWE says it can't get the main key wad or something. It also says some weird shit like "Index list out of bounds" or something. It won't load up my wads. What the hell's going on?
I'm using Windows Vista.

Vbrun300.dll, perhaps? If that's the one you're missing, just download it. I haven't had Wintex for a long while, but I think I had that problem too. As for XWE, I'm not so knowledgable, you should direct the question to somebody higher up on the doom-modding-food-chain =p Like WildWeasel. Glad to hear you've got your laptop, anyway!

Thanks for that InsanityBringer. See, I read the thread at Doomworld that talked about it, but I never saw that part about setting the noregistry thing being set to 1.InsanityBringer wrote:Find in XWE.INI the line noregistry(or something similar)and set it to onelizardcommando wrote:I just got my laptop today

Well, I'm slowly getting back into the swing of things. I fixed a few sprites like the SWAT Lizard with the Riot Shield and Tactical Pistol and the Handcannon. Apparently, they had some fugly sprites in them.
I just finished making the sprites for the Mech. I'm trying to get help with the coding right now.
I posted a thread about it on the ZDoom forums. Once I get this problem sorted out, I'll post a screenshot of the mech in action.

Well, I just got back into modding my doom mod. I started back up by working on the Heavy Machinegunner Guy. I just finished the shooting animation and injured animation. I'm not too sure when I'll go back and work on the rest of the animations... I also fucked around with the Cyberdemon's stats for shits and giggles and now I made him have a flamethrower similar to the one you get to use. The only difference is that it has a slightly longer range. I also increased the Cyberdemon's by a 1000 hit points. That's about all I did with the mod.
After I'm done with the Heavy Machinegunner guy, I'll post up a demo.
BTW, is it just me or does this site load up slow?
