Fatal error when running with more than one screen

Post by ibm5155 »

Well, I noted that many times when I tried to run gzdoom I just got a fatal error, and today, I just discovered why...
This problem doesn't happen when I'm running on a single screen, but when there're two, I'll get a fatal error most of the times.

Also, I discovered that this settings was playable in a specific old gzdoom build, well, here're my test log

gzdoom-g2.1.pre-655-gc6cb849 crash
1.8.02 crash
1.5.01 crash
1.4.07 some times works some times not
1.4.08 some times works some times not
1.4.05 some times works some times not
1.4.06 some times works some times not
1.4.03 works
1.4.02 works

All of them I tested opening gzdoom 6 times, when I said "works" it means all the 6 try worked without a fatal error, the other message means it runned gzdoom one more time and the rest I just got a fatal error message...

So, about the settings:
>Windows 8.1 64bits
>Intel core i7 3635QM
>Intel HD4000
>AMD HD8870m
>8gb DDR3 1,6GHz

Intel hd driver ver: 10.18.10.3958
AMD driver ver: 14.501.1003.0000

A QUICK NOTE:
All this tests I was running with the intel hd4000, with the amd gpu, I never got a crash with one or two screens.

Here's all the messages that was showed on the launch

Crashes in the graphics driver. Which I can't fix.

on this line
72E00000 - 72E14FFF atiglpxx.dll
725D0000 - 726BAFFF atiadlxy.dll
72DD0000 - 72DF4FFF atigktxx.dll

6BFC0000 - 6C611FFF *ig7icd32.dll (* means where it crashed?)
65220000 - 6559CFFF igdusc32.dll

This means it's loading the amd gpu driver plus intel gpu driver? shouldn't it only load intel drivers since I said it could ony run on intel gpu? :S

This mix of amd with intel gpu is worse than if you mixed a voodoo 2 with a voodoo 3 >.<

Please don't ask me what the OS is doing internally when 2 graphics drivers are installed. That's way out of my expertise.

Good/Weird news.

The good: This problem is not happening anymore :D

The weird: The fix is that I'm using the external display as primary display and not the notebook one O_o.
